My KX3 Companion running on Nexus 7 II(2013) Android 4.4.2 hangs up regularly. The RX display area fills up with received characters very fast and I have to click on it and clear it every 2-3 minutes. Please implement "waterfall" feature for the receive text, where the text just scrolls up when it reaches the bottom of the RX area, so the currently received text is always visible on the screen. Alternatively, less preferable, clear the RX area each time it fills up with text, so the new text starts populating from the top on clear display automatically. Now a user has to clear the screen every 2-3 minutes, which is annoying.
Also, more often than not, clearing the RX area by pressing on it causes the KX3 Companion app to hang, sometimes without an error message, sometimes with various Java error messages. If you can implement automatic clearing of RX area when it is full, then there would be less need to press on the screen to clear it - less chance for the app to freeze.
Also, with regards to the log fields, currently if a user touches RX area, the program finds all possible call signs and provides the user with choice of call signs for the log entry. I think it would be more convenient if a user can select any word in RX area and be provided a choice whether the selection is a call sign, or a name, or a location for the log entry. Currently, only the call sign can be automatically populated. And the user has to enter the rest of the log fields manually, which is not easy on a tablet in the field. The less text a user has to enter, the more fields can be automatically populated - the better for the usability of the app.
